The Real Roots of Midlife Crisis - It has been a tumultuous last five years for us - having a kid, moving, having another kid, then a brief period of sort-of-normalcy before a pandemic that is still affecting what we do. So it's very hard to separate all of that from how happy I would be otherwise! But this long article about how many people feel worst (happinesswise) in their 40s and things trend up from there. Seems like the kind of thing that just knowing can help you weather better. How Does This End? - I've been reading more of these "so, how is the pandemic going to end?" articles, and the conclusion is usually "get vaccinated, Covid becomes endemic but not a major threat". Which sounds pretty OK. We have been doing more things, but it's especially hard to figure out what we're comfortable with given that we have one kid partially vaccinated (yay!) and one kid who likely won't be able to get vaccinated for a few months. But maybe after they're both vaccinated we'll go back to normal? I don't know; every time I think about this I just want to go take a nap.
