NEW ROASTER'S CHOICE
Hello coffee lovers! This month we've chosen two vibrant African coffees as our Roaster's Choice espresso and filter. You can buy these individually or subscribe to Roasters Choice and we'll send you a new coffee to try each month.
FUNKA ESPRESSO UGANDA
Our limited edition summer espresso, Funka, has a sticky sweet flavour profile of damson jam & candied pecans softening to bubblegum with milk.
We love drinking coffees from East Africa in the roastery. Inspired by this month's Roasters Choice picks, here are our favourite African coffees to drink right now.
DR STRANGELOVE ESPRESSO πΊπ¬ This season's Dr Strangelove is a washed coffee and tastes of orange curd & cinnamon buns.
WHAT DOES COFFEE PROCESS MEAN? AND WHY DOES IT MATTER ANYWAY?
In coffee we talk a lot about different processing methods. You. might have seen terms like washed, natural or honey process when reading about our coffees. But what does this coffee jargon actually mean? And what does it tell you about how your coffee might taste?
When we talk about process, we mean the journey coffee makes from being a bright red coffee cherry (a fruit) to a green bean ready for roasting. Just like origin, roast profile, soil climate and varietal, how a coffee is processed has a huge impact on the final taste of the coffee in the cup and how the quality of the coffee is judged.
In this blog post we explain some of the most common processing terms that you might come across and how the way your coffee is processed could change how it tastes.
