Here's one of our favourite iced coffee recipes to make when it's hot.
Originating in Japan, flash brew is a strong, hot, filter coffee, brewed & served over ice. The ice melts as you brew resulting in a delicious iced coffee without the need for overnight steeping.
Here's how to make it: YOU NEED: 24g medium ground coffee, 250g filtered water, 150g ice, a carafe or jug to brew into, a pour-over coffee maker (e.g. V60 or Chemex), filter papers.
TIMINGS: 5 min prep, 10 min brew, 2 min serve
Weigh & grind 24g coffee, measure 250ml off-boil water, 150g ice.
Put ice in your carafe. Rinse your filter paper & set up your coffee maker.
Add ground coffee to your filter. Pour 100ml of water over the coffee (we call this blooming the coffee). When 100ml water has drained through, pour over the remaining water.
You should have just a little ice left over in the carafe at the end.
Serve over ice and enjoy!
