From Kev. Why I'd go Bambino vs Plus, and results from yesterday :-)

Hello fellow coffee botherers :-),

Just a couple of things I wanted to mention today.

The first thing to say is thanks to everyone who ordered via The Coffeeworks yesterday, as promised all the profits from sales from yesterday are going to The Coffee Trust to help the lives of coffee farmers. I'll send you a link when the donation has been made.

Secondly, I've had a few emails recently about the Sage Bambino Plus, and I wanted to share with you why I, personally, would go for the new slightly cheaper "Bambino".

The new Bambino, is identical to the Bambino plus when it comes to the coffee side of things.

The differences:

  • It's cheaper (about £70 less).
  • It has a smaller water tank (but they're very easy to remove and fill, this wouldn't bother me).
  • It doesn't have the auto frothing option (doesn't bother me as although that's very clever, I'd always steam manually, you'll get better results manually once you've got the knack).
  • It's slightly smaller
  • It has a hot water button, which the plus doesn't.
  • It's in stock (the Bambino plus isn't)

If I were on the market for an espresso machine at this kind of level, I'd go for the Bambino over the plus, simply because I think the only major difference is the lack of auto frothing and that's a feature I've never used except for the review videos.

If you're buying one, don't forget to drop me an email for the discount code, I have an active one at the moment.

Thanks again,

Kev
