It's been possible to filter the tasks in Project for the web for well over a year now but when this feature was first released it was only a keyword filter – this can be seen here: https://pwmather.wordpress.com/2020/04/16/projectfortheweb-task-filter-feature-workmanagement-taskmanagement-ppm-msproject-office365/ then later on the ability to also filter by Progress was added. Recently Microsoft enhanced the Filter feature by including additional filter options as seen below:
As you can see, we can now filter tasks on Keyword, Finish Date, Progress, Buckets and Assigned To. The Buckets and Assigned To filter options will update as Buckets and Assignments are changed in the Project. Using Buckets as an example:
I have 3 filter options in the Buckets filter which matches the buckets I have in this project:
If I add a 4th bucket, the additional bucket will appear as an option on the buckets filter:
You can select multiple filter criteria, for example I've selected Bucket 3 and myself in the Assigned to filter which is indicated next to the filter option – it shows 1 for each:
It is also indicated in the top corner of the page next to the Filter option:
Adding additional filters will update the counts:
The filters are persistent across the grid, board and timeline views. A great additional to Project for the web.
