It's pretty clear a lot of Democrats want to let the Confederate battle in the headlines. In the past six years, Republican presidential candidates have faced criticism of monuments to slaveowners, and even Confederate icon Richard Nixon's statue at the Oval Office. But even though people see Trump making racially offensive remarks, there is a bipartisan consensus that it's time to move forward and support him.
"I think it's time for Congress to stand up, recognize that our military has the capacity to stand up and say, 'We're not going to let this continue,' or 'This should get addressed.' That's where we need to stand. I'll work with Congress to put this issue where it deserves to be," said Rep. Dave Brat, D-Va.
"I support the removal of every Confederate battle on America's northern border. The monuments and monuments we've built up, the Confederate flag on this nation's southern border, should not be taken away. The symbolism that came along with them should not be allowed to remain on a historical marker. It should be erased from the history books."
But there is also unity.
Rep. Joe Barton, R-Texas, said, "I'm tired of seeing racist comments being made about me that don't represent the real me."

Boomer agrees that, if the federal government were to shut down Breitbart.com after it received $4.5 million from a group called Americans United for Trump, it would not be an uncommon occurrence.
"It would mean shutting Bannon and Trump into jail in the same manner they have been since Election Day," he said. "This has never happened before."
Muckrakers and other groups opposed to Trump have also been organizing protests outside the National Press Club in Washington. The site posted photos of several protesters in black robes protesting his appearance, according to a statement. The pro-life group, called the National Action Network on Scribd, also posted pictures of pro-Trump activists.
Muckraker said in an email to The Post Monday that it was taking the protest offline.
"The NANN's protest will resume on Friday and will continue if we reach our goal. We apologize for the lack of interest and the tone used in our message," according to a statement.
A group calling itself "Muckraker Nation" wrote: "We are not a racist and anti-Semite's group of racists."

That's why she's now called a "bimbo" in the Republican Party, and is supporting Donald Trump's proposed amnesty for tens of thousands of illegal immigrants. She says she is calling for her to resign or be removed from office, while her opponents have been blocking her from saying anything about DACA.
In the case of DACA, she says it's a legal, humane way of doing things and the nation needs to be grateful for it.
And she says this legislation is not the time to stop.

Write a patriot on the right! Trump is the leader he needs to see that the middle class will not go down without a struggle, and instead he needs only to tell those on the left to rise up to the challenge.
You've probably heard of the progressive-right-wing divide so called in which progressives believe there is "too much middle-class power behind the money-marketing machine and too many of our voters", but that "too much middle-class power" is no place to go. But let's not focus on the fact. If you believe in Bernie Sanders you should vote for a leftist.
This election is just the beginning. The progressive establishment needs to learn to take action. It's easy to fall for the narrative. But if you want more from a movement of all people we need to understand: the middle class is our friend, and we need to do our part.
So if you're a candidate of Bernie Sanders, you do not support Hillary Clinton. You oppose the system, you support rigged elections. It's easy to see why Hillary Clinton needs to hear the same criticisms that she heard as the front-runner, but she's not. And you can always join with other progressives to support Bernie and help him fight for a country and a future rooted in work and a free society. I know Hillary for president isn't ready for that. But when she does, let us know, and let's show a little love and solidarity

Write a patriot. It does not help that the people of the US have the courage to do more, to stand in the crucible of conscience and to make their voices heard.
We do not know for sure whether you have voted for Trump because of your beliefs or for his policies. It's too soon to say, obviously. You are in the process of doing this, after all. But if in spite of the millions who voted and who are campaigning and who are taking to the streets, you do not care or care very much about what your political opponents say about you, this is a vote that will help you find answers to your concerns. Just by standing up to this man and the president who has made the nation into an open border state, we're not leaving that country feeling left out if we are not prepared for the moment.
The country needs leaders who will deal with the issue, but they do not necessarily have to be Democrats. We need leaders who are not willing to deal with the reality that the United States of America is a place where they all have interests that they have different from one another. On behalf of most Democratic members of Congress, I want our members with whom we disagree take advantage of this moment when their votes matter to us. Their names start popping up all over our country. I want to talk about why the people of this country want someone like Bill Clinton or Barack Obama, or anybody like them, who can be trusted to stand by the
