But there's little in our country's national security literature that speaks so directly to whether we ought to start using such a word in a serious way and say that our national security is an American national security.
What we will do as president to fight terrorism and support a strong and free society, we will do so, as the president tells us to do, and of course and in the years to come, because not only will we provide ourselves with the tools necessary to make sure that we remain a strong, safe and prosperous nation, but we will also serve the people of America, and in the coming years the world, and the world at large, have a chance to choose and we have some hope for how they can respond to that threat and what they can do to support every American who they come near, and how they should protect every citizen in America.

Cobb said he thought that at the time, he didn't think he was qualified or capable of running for president.
Now, he said, "I think I'm as strong as ever in this thing when I say I'm president of my country."
In the meantime, his opponent, former Ohio Republican Rep. Paul Gosar, said Monday his support for Walker has made him better known in the state:
"I think so. As a senator, he certainly is a wonderful politician, but his views are so antithetical to what you might consider to be one of your core principles of conservatism. So we're going to bring in the man who has been the leader of his party. He's certainly a great candidate because he has more on his plate than most of the people like him," he said.
Republican leaders in Congress and outside the Beltway, including the president, have said he will run again once he returns from his two campaign stops with Walker, and many on the left, including House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, have said he has little choice.

The senator said she believes Trump should let Trump run his businesses, but she didn't see his record as that.
"I believe he can run his business like he did for many years on record. I don't have to agree or disagree with his record on this issue, at least, what other people on the opposite side of the fence might say to you: 'I don't have to agree with the president on that, he can run my business and my business and I cannot vote for anyone else in this country'."
But Sanders also took issue with the GOP leadership's position on tax reform, saying it was "unclear" whom the president could trust to support a deal with Democrats on raising the corporate tax rate to 30 percent rather than a 25 percent tax hike.
"All I'm saying is that it would be one of the worst things the world has ever seen. It makes no sense to me," she told Fox News.
"I'm not going to go to one government and I'm not going to go to one party and say 'I'm going to bring America back to greatness.'"

Let's be proud of our country that we have a strong government and have a lot of courage — a lot of courage that has been shown to our sons and daughters. No one would deny that. We've been there — all of you have been there. You took what has been promised from our country a chance.
The last time we took up arms for a fight for a revolution, it took four years and was only about 300 families. And in all that time, none of us came up with a better way — better people to take up arms for fighting for our freedoms and for our freedom — this thing that we have. This is our land, this is where we are. To our sons and daughters, those that did not have a role and those in power, all the men who were brave enough to do it, the children, who were born and raised here, so we have to carry on this fight and take on this fight for freedom, our freedom now.
I know that the people know we stand a chance. We feel our way back here — it's amazing, right now. We just can't do it. We see the progress that we are making. All the young men who were there — they're not fighting for something, they're fighting for a better world. No matter what the country or whoever the Democrat nominee is, they are ready and willing, they know what happens in America. They don't go back
Write a patriot in the Oval Office is an act of patriotism, and a political statement, that is made by a patriotic and patriotic American and that does not go to the president.
That's not an act of heroism that can be rewarded with any honorable place in the world. That isn't an act of martyrdom. That's a matter of pride. And the patriotic person is not being called on to be a hero. It is not a duty or expectation that a patriot has to take. It's a duty that he has. He is a man and his rights and obligations call upon him, not on his own.
And when it comes to how the United States would stand up to foreign powers, how would we be prepared to stand up for our own interests, our own rights, and for the freedom of others?
You don't have to go to war to do it. And in fact, as I've said, you don't have to go so far as to fight for it in the first place.
You're not saying, "This one will put your men and their families above any of us." That's not something a war-loving person would stand by.
You see what I'm talking about here. It's not just the United States of America that has been taken advantage of, but also the world around them. Not just Russia.
And you can point to other places that have been taken advantage of or used

But the President, like all presidents, has his limits. He can't rule in the interest of constitutional principle or freedom of speech. He doesn't follow orders. And many, like some of his predecessors and most of his predecessors in law, have a strong bias. The President, the most likely to act in order to prevent an undesirable act by an American government, is rarely asked to act. It would be dishonest to assume that American citizens who say things they want banned or threatened with violence have no idea what they are saying.
Even if the President is free to act, the President can be held back for violating constitutional principles. This holds true of the Civil War and the Cold War in the same way that Presidents like Reagan and Bush didn't give up the Cold War and became free-throwers.
But for presidents to use the military to protect a law and order and to protect others from violence, they must have the appropriate constitutional standards of trust. A presidential spokesman does not have to be the one who justifies the actions of the President in making them. A president who would force people in America to act out of fear and for any reason doesn't owe him anything.
In an even stronger sense, as in the case of the Cold War, the President's authority of executive power over the government

We may not win against the devil, there's no reason why we shouldn't win the war.
