If you saw the recent email about this, you'll know that Gaggia now have some really good bundle deals for their entry level espresso machines with the option of a proper portafilter with standard basket, and with the Gaggia MDF with free shims (basically simply a washer which is very easy to install, to enable it to grind fine enough for espresso with standard baskets). The two options I mentioned recently were the Gran Gaggia, or the Gaggia Viva, with the standard traditional basket portafilter and with the Gaggia MD15 with shims, both for under £250.
