Trust is the confidence that must be earned. Inherent trust is the trust automatically given without reason. Once a subject earns trust, access to objects is authorized.
Zero Trust removes inherent trust from network locations/perimeter or any other factors. For example, a subject located in internal networks won't be connected to the network automatically without authentication and authorization.
That said, Zero Trust doesn't refer to "No Trust"; it builds up trust based on data-centric, fine-grained, dynamic, transparent, complete mediation or access control.
