In the realms of inductive reasoning, a conjecture is a proposition, made by an arguer, that seems likely to be true but not 100% definitely true.

For example, if we have this sequence

2, 4, 6, 8, 10, ...

We can say that we're able to see the pattern that each number is 2 more than the previous number. However, we don't know and we cannot totally guarantee that the sequence will continue to follow the pattern. Hence, we conjecture that the nth number is n+2.
