New Crown Jewel

Crown Jewel Kenya Nyeri Thunguri Double Washed, CJ1416

A high-grade, landed fresh crop Kenya in May? Trader Caitlin McCarthy-García, in partnership with our supplier Dorman's, may have pulled off the nearly impossible. This cup is exceptional with flavors of mango, bing cherry, and raisin, balanced by milk chocolate, and a lovely effervescence.

Crown Jewel Bolivia Caranavi Rodriguez Family Java Fully Washed, CJ1415

This Jewel is surprisingly delicate, incredibly sweet, and just lovely. The Crown's Tasting Room will be serving this on bar as espresso, where this coffee becomes a symphony of chocolate. The syrupy mouthfeel is tempered by tamarind acidity and the sweetness of red fruits. Espresso fans will not want to miss this one.

This coffee is a delicious representation of this fabled origin with notes of cocoa, strawberry milk, and apricot. The supplier story is equally good. Royal has been working with the extended Muslot family since the 1980s. You can read our cofounder's notes on the decades-long relationship and learn more about their mission from the producer herself, Fatoum Muslot.
