With the Patriots still undefeated, the most expensive NFL game on Amazon for the next eight weeks is the $9.50 game at a Verizon Wireless-operated stadium in Chicago, USA, the NFL Network is still giving Comcast $100,000, according to the National Football League's new "CNBC Sports" page which gives the league's games to ESPN and NBCSN.
The two broadcast networks have no way to pay Comcast $250,000 for five games at a Verizon Wireless-operated stadium on Chicago's northwest side in November. Neither network is willing to take that risk just yet.
The problem goes beyond the number of hours the NFL games are broadcast. According to ESPN, "About 15,000 of the 1.5 million televised games on Comcast will be decided by viewers on a 24 to 36 hour cycle. This could make for the biggest broadcast TV market ever." This would probably bring home some extra money to the networks when they broadcast their games on different networks.
The fact that a huge NFL team and its owner are willing to invest in the game on Amazon would help explain why Comcast and Time Warner Cable are paying Comcast and Time Warner Cable $10.5 million each for five days. Comcast and T-Mobile have reportedly agreed to pay at least $4 million apiece on Amazon.

Donald Trump will take on the Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton to get a taste of a chance to run as the party's presidential nominee in 2016.
It was Trump who suggested he would give up and instead support Clinton — when she is not running — as an alternative to President Barack Obama.
If Trump does run as a Democrat, he will do it within the confines of an electoral college process he thinks may be more democratic than the one conducted in 2008.
That process could require as many as 300 votes to win.
And there is the potential for Clinton to run in a field that also includes Bernie Sanders and Martin O'Malley, the former governor of Maryland, and Democratic front-runner, Hillary Clinton.
But while many in the field believe that Sanders should continue as a viable alternative to Obama, the likelihood is that he will still seek the Democratic nomination.
"Clinton's run will be viewed as an attempt to shift the Democratic Party from its traditional role of campaigning for and supporting candidates, as opposed to running for president," said Ken Fuchs, a longtime member of Sanders's campaign.
"She would be the candidate who has made it all the way to the Oval Office, while Sanders has not, including her nomination in the Democratic primary," Fuchs added.
