Will you chat with a robot?

Less than two weeks ago, OpenAI released ChatGPT, a powerful new chatbot that can communicate in plain English using an updated version of its AI system. This artificial intelligence bot can chat and write essays, poems and computer programs. It is so powerful that it already went viral, especially in the Bay Area.

You can ask ChatGPT encyclopedia questions like, "Explain Newton's laws of motion." You can tell it, "Write me a poem," and when it does, say, "Now make it more exciting." You ask it to write a computer program that'll show you all the different ways you can arrange the letters of a word.
