According to Guinness World Records, the most lit jack-o'-lanterns on display is 30,581 and it was achieved by the City of Keene, New Hampshire on 19 October 2013. Keene was the original record holder in this category and has now broken it 8 times since the original attempt.

According to History.com, the Halloween we know today can trace its roots back to the ancient Celtic end-of-harvest festival of Samhain. During Samhain, people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off evil spirits.

This year's Halloween candy prices soar by the most since at least 1999. Candy prices are estimated to be 14% higher than last year, according to a recent report from S&P Global Market Intelligence. That's the highest increase since the firm started tracking Halloween candy prices in 1999!
