Fresh Crop - Bethlehem of Umbria

Bethlehem of Umbria

We've had the pleasure of roasting Don Mario's coffee ever since an origin trip back in 2016 brought us to his lush Bethlehem farm. On the cupping table his coffee stood out with its rounded body, nuttiness and faint satsuma and blackcurrant sweetness.

The Ultimate Artisan Farmer

This coffee had previously been bulked into the local Cafe Cristalina de Risaralda Co-op but after offering to pay a premium to have it segregated we were able to gain exclusivity of this single farm coffee. Six years on and we're still supporting the good work Don Mario is doing who we think of as the 'ultimate artisan farmer'. Experience tells him when coffee is ripe for picking, before it is pulped fresh on the farm then dried on his roof! Click below to read the Origin Trip Blog and keep up to date with the latest when we make a long awaited return trip later this month.
