There's not actually a great deal of info to be found about the original Kapuziner Kaffee. If you ask for a Kapuziner in a Viennese coffee shop these days, you'll get espresso with whipped cream, but the original version pre-dates espresso machines by quite some time.
There were no vegans in 1790, I assume - so this recipe calls for eggs and cream, but I'm fairly sure you'll be able to find alternatives if you're vegan, for instance Queggs and Queem? I'm sure they exist ;-).
I once contacted Quorn asking them if they could make Quorned Beef, as it seemed such an obvious one ;-), and funnily enough the only meat I've really ever missed since stopping eating meat 12 or 13 years ago, is corned beef! I don't even miss bacon.
I never heard back from them, by the way, ignorant buggers ;-).
Anyway, if you get chance to give it a quick watch (it's not a particularly long one) I'd be grateful, and as always if you wouldn't mind giving the like button a little prod, that would be great :-) - it prompts YouTube to show the video to more people, or something.
Now for the second bit of news - a nice little symbol flashed up at me yesterday telling me I've hit a million!
Sadly, that's not a million quid, hehe, or a million subscribers - but a million views.
Not bad in a couple of years though.
I started the channel about 5 years ago (roughly a year after starting the blog) but I didn't start creating content (except for a couple of short videos years ago) until Feb 2020 - and it's only relatively recently that I've started uploading content as regularly as YouTube appears to prefer, so hopefully this will be a million subscribers within a few decades ;-).
You can help me here, though :-), if you're not a subscriber, why not subscribe to my channel? All 100% coffee-related content, and you don't have to wear a mask to watch, but you can if you prefer ;-).
Just before I go, if you're a customer of The Coffeeworks, apologies if you get a bag of coffee with a white label... We're having a problem with the supply of the usual labels we use, so we've had to switch to white while we're waiting for the black ones to turn up.
I know, first world problems ;-), but, apologies if you're a repeat customer and you get confused by a weird looking label - it's temporary.
If you're not yet a customer, use the discount code CBNC25 for 25% off your first order, and you may be a lucky recipient of one of our limited edition bags with white labels ;-).
Thanks again,
Kev
