From Kev. Kev on the Chris Evans Breakfast Show & I'm Changing My Youtube Channel Name...

Evening fellow coffee botherers :-),

I'll get to Chris Evans Shortly... but first, here's my latest video, if you wouldn't mind just giving the like button a little jab for me, that would be great :-).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9U2nSQWIxbo

The last video, how to make a flat white, jumped straight to being my no1 video! Just shows how popular flat white is.

I'm not sure if this one will be as popular, but when I send it to my lovely friends and you click the like button, it helps YouTube to be persuaded to show it to a higher percentage of people, apparently - so this is always greatly appreciated :-).

Now onto the Chris Evans thing...

I've been a fan of Chris Evans since the 90s, my wife & I always used to look forward to TFI Friday, and I listened to him when he started out with Virgin in the late 90s. We listen to him now in the mornings on Virgin radio, and I heard him a couple of weeks back dropping the bombshell that Croissants were actually first created in Vienna, not France.

At that time I'd just filmed the "how to make the ancestor of Cappuccino" video, in which I explain that cappuccino is actually the espresso-based descendent of the Viennese "Kapuziner Kaffee".

So I thought I'd email Chris & the team once the video was live, and just hope that they might mention something.

They did! ;-).

Photoshopped? How dare you ;-)

How cool is that!??

The above photo is my photoshop handiwork of course ;-), amazing what you can do with computers these days, but the audio clip is legit.

I didn't know they were doing it, either, I got an email from the producer just after they'd done it.

Anyway, my 5 seconds of fame :-).

The next thing to mention, is that I've just changed my YouTube channel name.

It was "UK Coffee Blog" which doesn't make sense. I called it this initially as I was creating the channel to begin with, to promote the blog, but it became it's own unique entity, and it's not a blog, of course. I was already thinking about changing the name when I heard Chris Evans getting a bit confused about a YouTube channel called "coffee blog" - which is when I decided it was time to do it.

The most obvious choice, was Coffee Kev - so my YouTube Channel name is now simply Coffee Kev.

I've changed my channel imagery too, so you'll see my face in your feed, holding up a coffee, vs the old channel image of latte art.

So that's about it for now. Oh, in case you're interested - I'm currently playing around with a LMLM (La Marzocco Linea Mini) to review, plus one of the new versions of the La Pavoni Europiccola.

Oh - and the Sage Oracle, and the Sage Oracle touch ;-). So lots of videos and blog posts in the works about these machines.

Right, better get off - going swimming (in a pool, not outdoors, that would be crazy - I live in the North West).

Thanks again,

Kev
