[New post] The Blog Post of Totally (not totally *) Useless Information 2
ants123456789 posted: " Welcome back guys ! All about scratch's useless stuff. To check out useless blog number 1 , click here If not, let's get started ! 1) The UNPREDICTABLE Obsolete Blocks These are blocks that cannot be used in or not found in the curren"
These are blocks that cannot be used in or not found in the current versions of scratch because either some of them have bugs while others might be replaced with a better alternative or completely deleted. Problematic blocks they are indeed. You'll never know what they're up to until you find out.
E.g. point away from edge block-due to being glitchy.
2) The Utmostly useless block library
It was so ridiculous that Scratch 2.0 removed all 350 of its blocks in the library and made them useless
That was in July 15 2010 when it all started . But attracted a lot of praise from the Scratch community
Sadly, it closed down - just like anything food that had gone beyond its expiry date would.
3) Remix Trees - bees in my knees !
The Remix Tree was a way of showing an extensive hierarchy of remixes originating from one project.
To access the remix tree of a project, one clicked the "tree" button at the rightmost edge of the project statistics bar.
Anyone could navigate through the various branches and explore the chains of remixing by selecting folders of remixes which will then unravel into other remixes.
Like in an awesome realm....
However, there was an issue where sometimes branches would go under the screen, and the rest of the branch was not visible in any way. If a project had too many remixes, not all of the remixes would be shown simultaneously.
Like any other tree, remix trees have
. branches (or links)
. leaves (or projects)
Unlike trees, it does not
. photosythesize
. need sunlight (except the warmth of other scratchers)
Of course, as we all know, remix trees are non-living things and so let us move on the a boring fact.
FACT: There is a bug that allows you to remix your own project.
Steps: First log into another account (such as a test account).
Open a new tab and see inside one of your main account's projects.
Then in the first tab switch back to your main account.
On the second tab click "remix".
(This will not only give you a copy of your project, but also make it show up in the remix tree. )
Tricks to Scratch - Scratch Wiki
I wonder why would anyone want to do so ,unless you had lost your original project......
The Treacherous Two
Scratchers have voted the blocks "days since 2000" and "colour__is touching__?" as the one of most useless blocks ever.
Reasons
So far , are you alright? Let's reveal the most useless blocks ever:
days since 2000
2. distance to ___
3."colour__is touching__?"
4. __of __
5. loudness ( replaced by volume)
6. __mod__
7. when__key pressed (can be replaced)
These topics have been highly debated among Scratchers themselves for no one block is at the top. E.g. in other Scratcher's opinion , the block "days since 2000" could be deferring from mines as some say it can be used to tell global time. Each block has its pros and cons alike.
So which do you think is the most useless block? Tell us in the comments below
