Germany won the gold medal in the Women's coxless fours at the 2019 European Rowing Junior Championships in Essen, Germany. Italy took the silver and Denmark the bronze medal.

The two-day 2021 European Rowing Junior Championships starts tomorrow, Saturday, in Munich, Germany. The regatta will be held at the 1972 Olympic venue in Oberschleissheim, Munich, home of the upcoming 2022 European Rowing Championships.

European rowers (including rowers from Israel) under the age of 19 are able to compete across 14 boat classes with the aim to become European junior champions.

The following events are offered at these championships:

Men (JM): 1x, 2-, 2x, 4-, 4x, 4+, 8+

Women (JW): 1x, 2-, 2x, 4-, 4x, 4+, 8+

The Saturday races will begin at 9:30 CET and all racing will be streamed on the World Rowing website.

In April, it was first announced that the 2021 European Rowing Junior Championships had been postponed due to COVID-19 concerns. But in continuing discussions between the Munich Organising Committee (OC) and World Rowing, it was clear that the local public health requirements conformed to the World Rowing requirements for 2021 regattas. It was announced on 17 August that the European junior rowers were welcome to the 1972 Olympic venue.

The European Rowing Junior Championships were introduced in 2008.
