NASA's Ingenuity helicopter continues to scoot through the Martian sky, and recently completed its ninth and most challenging flight to date. The multirotor aircraft broke several of its own records during the flight, as confirmed by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the California-based unit that's overseeing the latest Mars mission.
During its most recent flight, Ingenuity flew for 166.4 seconds, beating the previous record of 139.9 seconds achieved during its sixth flight on May 23. The 4-pound, 19-inch-high aircraft also flew a distance of 625 meters, way further than the existing record of 266 meters that it covered on its fourth flight on April 29. The machine also managed to hit a speed of 5 meters per second, 1 mph faster than it's been flying since its sixth flight.
JPL tweeted confirmation of Ingenuity's successful flight, along with a photo captured by the aircraft's downward-facing camera as it flew over the Martian surface. |

Nintendo announced a new model for its mobile console, the Nintendo Switch this morning. Titled the Switch OLED, the console will release on October 8 for $350.
Revealed in an announcement trailer this morning, the Switch OLED's biggest difference from the original Switch model is in its name. The original Switch sported a 6.2 inch LCD screen capable of hitting a max resolution of 720p. The Switch OLED won't be improving on that handheld resolution, but will instead sport a 7-inch OLED screen.
Contrary to rumors, the Switch OLED will not be capable of displaying extremely high-resolution video while docked, retaining the same 1080p resolution found on the base Switch. In fact, the Switch OLED doesn't seem like a huge departure performance-wise from the base model Switch. The main difference is that the console features a redesigned wide kickstand that's fully adjustable and a wired LAN port for more stable online play. It also comes with a new dock that has rounded edges, presumably to avoid scratching the screen. |

Samsung is said to be launching the Galaxy Buds 2 and a Galaxy Watch 4 Classic this August. Animated GIFs said to show these devices from all angles have been posted to Twitter by Evan Blass, a leaker with a reliable track record. The Galaxy Buds 2 renders show the upcoming pair of earbuds in four colors, including black, green, purple, and white. If accurate, the cases will all be in white.
Other reports have claimed the Galaxy Buds 2 could cost as much as $169 or as low as $149. From the Federal Communication Commission certification shared by 91Mobiles, we know the Buds 2 will have Bluetooth LE support, as well as a combined battery of 120mAh for both earbuds and 500mAh for the case. Active noise cancellation may also be featured, established Samsung product leaker Ice Universe said on Twitter. |

Amazon's Echo Show smart devices are popular smart displays for a reason: They offer affordable options to use Alexa commands around the home while watching a touchscreen display for visual information or more dedicated selections. It's a great combo — but not everyone has an Echo Show, or access to their Show all the time.
That's where Alexa's new Show Mode comes in. This mode, available for Windows PCs, allows users to turn their screen into a version of the Echo Show screen, with all commands, visual info, and video options available. Sound interesting? Here's how to enable it! |
