Modelplace.AI : A marketplace for AI models + OpenCV WebApp using StreamLit

Today, I am sharing a new Getting Started with OpenCV blog series [C++ and Python] and an adventure of an AI entrepreneur.  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Hello trend,

This is Satya Mallick from LearnOpenCV.com.

I have some exciting news to share with you.

OpenCV just launched Modelplace.AI - a marketplace for AI models that connects AI app developers to AI model creators.

For application developers, Modelplace provides an easy drag and drop interface to try different models for their application, select the best one, and seamlessly integrate it with their application.

For AI model creators, Modelplace helps reach a large audience of developers and a path to monetize their models (coming soon). Oh, it also features 20 models compatible with OpenCV AI Kit with Depth (OAK-D).

Check out this youtube video that explains the concepts and features

This is a game-changer! Give it a try at Modelplace.AI

The idea for Modelplace was conceived by an amazing team lead Anna Petrovicheva. She will join us at our OpenCV Weekly Webinar tomorrow. It will be very useful for people who build or dream of building large-scale computer vision systems.

Date and Time: June 17th, 9 am Pacific
Topic: How we test algorithms on Modelplace.AI
Guests: Dr. Satya Mallick (CEO, OpenCV.org), Anna Petrovicheva (Co-founder, Modelplace)

OPENCV WEBAPP USING STREAMLIT

In last week's webinar, Vikas Gupta covered how to build an OpenCV webapp using StreamLit. It is a great tool to quickly create a demo app for your computer vision application that you want to share with your co-workers, clients, or other stakeholders.

The episode is now available on youtube

CATCH THE WAVE

I started my first company TAAZ.com in 2007 just as I was completing my Ph.D. The company created a virtual makeover solution and it launched with a bang (pun intended) with Mike Arrington of TechCrunch writing this funny piece.

It was a roller coaster ride, and the virtual makeover application we had built reached more than 100M people. Among our clients were companies like Estee Lauder, Clinique, Home Shopping Network, People Magazine, Instyle Magazine, and many more.

As the co-founder and CTO of that company, I made a grand total of $0 Million Dollars!

How could that happen?

In business, as in life, opportunities come in waves. Catch a wave when it is rising and your business and/or career gets a free boost from the momentum in the system.

HTML developers made a killing in the dot com boom. Early iPhone apps made by two people made millions of dollars.

We failed to catch the waves that would have propelled us forward. We missed the social media app revolution and the mobile phone app revolution, and that was enough to spiral the company into decline.

Eight years of effort went for a toss!

After TAAZ, I decided on three important things for my next company.

  1. I will be the CEO.
  2. It will not be funded by Venture Capital.
  3. I will look out for technological waves for a free ride.

Fast forward to 2021. The AI revolution is still in its infancy, and I am ALL in.

This revolution will transform industries but more importantly, it will transform careers. Programmers without a working knowledge and understanding AI will be unemployable, but the ones who catch the wave early on will earn a LOT.

If you are a programmer who wants to join this revolution, our courses are a very good start. The courses are currently available through our Kickstarter campaign which is backed by nearly 1300 backers.

Are you ready for your first steps in computer vision and AI?

JOIN THE AI REVOLUTION

Time is ticking away!
