From Kev. Why to go for the Anima over the Brera, + Online Exhibition On Thursday & Friday.

Hello fellow coffee botherers :-),

A couple of bits of Gaggia news to share today.

Firstly, Gaggia Direct are having an online exhibition this Thursday and Friday via Zoom - to launch the Gaggia Classic Acrobat, the new limited edition 30 year anniversary Gaggia Classic.

As well as info on the Classic Acrobat, there will be various workshops and forums - and it's all free.

The next bit of news may be of interest to anyone who has been thinking about buying the Gaggia Brera.

It's a great little bean to cup machine, one of the best I think for that kind of price point (sells for £425 from Gaggia Direct). Click here to read my review.

But there's one main problem with the Gaggia Brera at the moment. They can't keep them in stock ;-).

As you'll know if you've been trying to get hold of one, even when they get a new delivery, often they only just have enough to cover the back orders.

But - they have stock of the Gaggia Anima, at present, which is a machine at a slightly higher price point.

I reviewed the Anima a while ago, click here to read the review.

I was impressed with it, and when you look at the differences of the base level Anima vs the Brera, I do think it's worth the extra £74 which you'd usually pay (£499 for the Anima vs £425 for the Brera).

Just to point out a few:

  • It has a bigger 1.8L water tank, and it's top loading so you can top it up as you're pulling a shot if it runs out of water.
  • There are five strength settings vs 3 on the Brera
  • The Anima has the ability to determine how often to descale depending on your water hardness

In short, the Anima is a better machine for various reasons, but I think the reason the Brera is so popular is that the price point (usually £425 now) sits better with a lot of people than the Anima at £499.

OK it's not a big difference, but spending five hundred quid on a machine does feel quite a lot more than spending £425, so possibly a harder purchase to justify to yourself or more importantly, to significant others ;-).

However, to try to steer people towards the machines they do have in stock rather than to keep taking more and more back orders for the Brera, they've offered a discount code to fellow coffee botherers all this week, to offer the Anima at a very similar price to the Brera.

If you use the discount code COFBL0621 you'll get the Anima for £449.

If you go there via my affiliate link, here, I'll earn a commission - thank you! :-) - but if you'd not to do that, just go direct to gaggiadirect.com.

To apply the discount code just add the Anima to your basket & then click "Redeem your coupon" and paste in the code.

That's all for now, enjoy the rest of your evening :-)

Thanks again,

Kev
