Netflix is the largest media company in the world, having over 60 million active subscribers that is one of the largest TV markets worldwide. A majority of its revenues come in the form of video rental, as well as local distribution. The big two major streaming video services, Google and Hulu are also owned by Netflix, with some other small players.
But is this really the case with The CW's "The Flash" and "Mad Men" on the same day you watch the latter? Can it really be said the latter series really has a strong deal in the works, given that it's on a limited budget but the CW has been talking about doing it for the last year?
"There're very few big deals like that on television these days … they have such a massive audience," said Adam Sandler, the head of television at Netflix. "And, you know…I think, and it's just, you know, there is a lot of people coming out who think they love [the show]. If you see one of those kids, say 'It's coming out on the CW, I'm going to love it,'" he said.
The show's been renewed for a third season this fall, and Sandler hopes fans will stop waiting.
