Hey coffee lover,
Did you know that coffee has terroir, just like wine?
While there are lots of variables at play, certain coffee-growing regions are known for specific flavor profiles that stem from their unique geography, soil composition, and climate.
The way different coffee regions process their coffee beans is another factor. Regions with ample sunlight turn to natural processing, which lends coffee a sweeter taste. More humid areas rely on wet-hulling, which produces earthy coffees with a full body.
We set about researching the most common flavor profiles of ten major growing regions. Because more coffee knowledge is never a bad thing.
In Ethiopia, high altitudes and copious sunshine yield bright fruity and floral coffees. In Brazil, coffees are grown at lower elevations, producing smooth brews with chocolate and nutty flavors and very little acidity.
