From Kev, Mind Blown... Auto Milk Steaming with ALL Sage Machines (and most others, too)...

Hello ,

Learning to properly texture consistent jugs of milk is a real pain, as I know myself! It took me years to learn to pour latte art, and I reckon the main reason for that is lack of consistency when it comes to milk texture.

My son wipes the floor with me when it comes to latte art, despite the fact that I taught him! ;-) He can pour sea horses, flipping sea horses! I can pour hearts and flowers, that's about it.

But he's a pro barista, and one of the things about being a barista is that you learn to consistently steam jug after jug of perfectly textured milk, using machines which have the steam power to make that possible with a bit of practice, and of course they get a lot of practice.

Anyway, there's a pro barista steaming hack, called Ghost steaming, which I thought only worked on pro machines with mega steam power.

My son is a Barista for Kickback Coffee Roasters, and his boss showed him recently that this actually works with Sage machines! I was very skeptical actually, until I got to the studio the next day, and blow me down with a feather, it chuffing works, like a dream!!

In theory at least, this will work on just about any espresso machine with a pro steam wand.

In this short video I show you how to do it, and I explain the most common mistakes & issues, and how to correct them.

If you've struggled with producing decent milk texture consistently, trust me, give this a watch, once you get the knack of this (which you probably will after just a couple of attempts), you'll never look back.

Thanks,

Kev
