Hey coffee lover,
We tend to think of Brazil and Colombia first when it comes to South American coffee origins. But in recent years, Bolivia has emerged as another origin of note. While it doesn't operate on nearly the scale of those two powerhouses, the Andes Mountains in the west provide the high elevation and fertile soils needed to grow specialty coffee beans.
As you'll learn in this article, Bolivian coffee production is hampered by poor infrastructure and economic challenges, not by a lack of skilled farmers or inadequate conditions. If the coffee world turns its attention (and dollars) to Bolivia, high-quality coffees will certainly follow.
Indeed, there is already some exceptional Bolivian coffee available. The country grows mostly Caturra and Typica coffee with rich flavors of chocolate, fruit, and sweet caramel.

And if you sample some Bolivian coffee beans (or already have a favorite brand), hit reply and let me know what you think!
