How come YOLOv6 is released after YOLOv7?
YOLOv6 initial version was released on June 23, 2022 via a blog article (no paper) by engineers working at Meituan. Just 2 weeks later, YOLOv7 was released which we covered in one of our previous post. Finally, after making changes to their approach and getting state-of-the-art results, YOLOv6 authors released the paper (naming it YOLOv6 version 2) on September 7, 2022. I hope the mystery is solved now :)
