Hello and welcome, Kieran from Above Average Coffee here to bring you another Moka Pot Monday! (yet another Tuesday edition...) As always, this email is broken down into 3 points, a coffee tip, a coffee read, and a coffee recommendation.
Some of you got in touch wanting me to link straight to the coffee recommendation at the top so here it is. Check out this week's coffee pick - Review of the Breville Barista Express
1. Aeropress vs French Press
Although they seem very different both of these process are immersion brewing methods so are more similar than you'd think. From the article:
"The French press uses immersion brewing before the coffee is filtered out with a mesh filter. The Aeropress combines immersion and pressure brewing before using a paper filter to remove all sediment. French press coffee is bold, thick, and dark and Aeropress coffee is smooth, sweet, and dancing with complex flavor notes."

2. Laser Extracted Cold Brew Coffee
Now this pleases every nerd fibre in my body. A new breakthrough has been made that allows cold brew style coffee to be made in minutes by pulsing coffee grounds in water with an actual laser!
It's been done in a lab in Germany and I can't wait until you can buy this stuff by the can.

3. Breville Barista Express Review
"The Breville Barista Express is not only a powerful machine but it comes with all the extras you would normally have to buy separately. This saves you time and money and allows you to start brewing espresso straight away."
That's it for today. If you want to reply to this email we read all responses, give us your coffee tip or a coffee read and we just might share it with everybody!
P.S. Not related to coffee but if you wanted something new to listen to while you're enjoying your cup of Joe I also run a Scottish History Podcast called Generally Spooky. If you love learning about history, like settling in to listen to a good story, or just enjoy getting a little spooked, then this is the podcast for you!
