From Kev. BoJo Says Bla Bla, I Say This...

Evening fellow coffee botherers :-),

BoJo has just been saying bla bla bla, not sure what else, I find it hard to listen to him for too long, I start to get sleepy. He should start recording some guided meditations for people suffering from insomnia, I reckon they'd be great.

One thing he has said that I did pay particular attention to, is working from home again if you can, from Monday onwards.

So the obvious question is, if you're going to be working from home again from Mon, do you have good coffee at home?

If so excellent :-). If not - well, the Sage Appliances discount code is still live, and the website appears to be working fine now, so let me know if you need that.

The Black Friday Deals post is still live, and there are still some decent deals on there.

If you already have a great coffee machine - don't forget you'll need more coffee if you're working from home in the week or so leading up to Christmas.

Use the discount code CBNC25 for 25% off at The Coffeeworks if you're a new customer, or COFFEEBOTHERERS if you're an existing customer, for 10% off.

While I'm here, just a quick clarification re the Sage Bambino (not the plus).

I said in my recent videos on this machine, and in other content, that the only real difference is the water tank and the lack of auto steaming - and the ball joint on the wand, and the wand tip being single hole.

I've since discovered (thanks to a comment on one of the videos which prompted me to test this and then to contact Sage) that there's another important difference, which is a lack of Solenoid valve.

This is important because it explains why it comes with no backflushing disk and no instructions re backflushing - you can't backflush it, as it has no solenoid.

If you have a Bambino, I wouldn't be too concerned about this to be honest.

I wish they'd have told me initially about this difference, but the only difference is that the pressure isn't immediately discharged after pulling a shot.

So the pucks might not be quite as dry as with the plus, and also you'd be best not removing the portafilter immediately after pulling the shot, as you could get some "portafilter sneeze" which is where pressure is still built up in the basket when you remove the portafilter.

I didn't actually notice either when I was using the machine for the review, so I don't think it's that much of an issue, but I will be doing some more testing with the Bambino, and I'll be releasing another video shortly.

I think that's it for now. Oh, actually, have a look at this ;-), just a bit of fun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2x81qER6Ja8
