Hey coffee lover,
If you recently had diner coffee, it was probably made in a percolator.
But in general, percolators have fallen out of fashion.
When it was first invented, though, it was groundbreaking technology.
It automated the process of filtering out used grounds from the brew.
The downside was that the longer it ran, the more bitter and astringent the brew became.
But some people swear by that bold, in-your-face coffee flavor.
The drip brewer took that automation a step further by ensuring that the water dripped slowly over the grounds. And once all the water had dripped through, the machine would turn itself off.
You didn't have to watch it like a hawk, as you had to do with percolators.
The basic principle in both the brewers is the same—hot water dripping through a bed of ground coffee.
However, both machines produce different types of coffee.
It's not just the taste, either.
They differ in terms of ease of use, versatility, and capacity.
But is one really better than the other?
Well, you'll have to find that out for yourself by reading our article…
