LG is going after gamers with new features for its C1 and G1 series OLED TVs that are aimed at offering the best possible visual experience. In an announcement on Monday, June 28, the Korean tech company said its latest firmware (03.15.27) makes LG's C1 and G1 TVs the first in the world to support Dolby Vision HDR at 4K 120Hz on select gaming platforms.
Gaming with Dolby Vision HDR at 4K 120Hz should offer an elevated experience with stunning, silky smooth visuals. LG confirmed that other premium models in its 2021 TV lineup — including its OLED Z1 series, QNED Mini LED QNED99 series, and NanoCell 99 series TVs — will also receive the update in July, with other 2021 and 2020 TVs undergoing testing for possible Dolby Vision gaming in either 60Hz or 120Hz.
"With enhanced gaming capabilities and convenient, user-friendly controls, LG's premium TVs are ready to deliver sublime next-gen gaming experiences," the company said in a release. |

Apple's iPhone 12S Pro line is reportedly coming later this year with an improved ultrawide camera, but a new report from noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that all of next year's iPhones will have the feature. Backing up a report from analysts at Trendforce last week, Kuo says that the iPhone 12S Pro and 12S Pro will ship with an autofocus-capable ultrawide lens.
The current ultrawide cameras on the iPhone 12 Pro models are of the fixed-focus variety. This change will enable greater flexibility for iPhone photographers and allow for improved framing similar to the regular wide and telephoto lenses. Kuo also backed up reports that the new ultrawide camera would be a six-element lens, bringing it up to par with the regular wide camera.
You won't need to pay the Pro price for long if you want to try out these updates. Kuo says that Apple is currently working on rolling these out to all the 2022 iPhone models, Pro or otherwise. |

HP announced its lightest consumer laptop today — the Ryzen 5000-powered HP Pavilion Aero 13. It weighs less than a kilogram and promises entertainment, productivity, and a great connection all in one. It's available in four color options, Pale Rose Gold, Warm Gold, Ceramic White, and Natural Silver, which offer a nice variety of color palettes for you to choose from.
Apart from boasting a lightweight body, HP's latest release is the first Pavilion laptop to host a full magnesium aluminum chassis, which helps it stay so light. The chassis also has fairly premium look for laptop of this price, sporting four-sided narrow bezels and a durable body. The HP Aero 13 is also the first Pavilion laptop with a 90% screen-to-body ratio. Those thin bezels should make for enjoyable content viewing as well as a modern aesthetic. |
