Hey coffee lover,
Whether you have a time-traveling DeLorean or not…
There's still a possibility that you could get stuck in a place without a coffee grinder.
So you might not be able to get freshly ground beans for your morning cuppa.
Unless you're willing to put a little elbow grease into it.
After all, we have kitchen tools that go back centuries ⚒️
And they've been used for crushing/grinding all manner of things.
So why not use them to grind coffee beans?
Some methods may yield a grind that you could use to brew a pour over.
And some may even be suitable for espresso (albeit with a pressurized portafilter).
None of them will give you a grind comparable to a burr grinder.
But at least you'll have ground beans for making your coffee.
If you're lucky enough to have electricity, we've even included tips for grinding beans in a blender/food processor.
Even if you don't plan on using any of these methods, you might enjoy the article…

PS: If you're unable to grind your beans in a hand/electric burr grinder, immersion brewing methods are your best friend.
Think French Press, Aeropress, etc. They're more tolerant to inconsistent grind size and can produce a decent brew no matter which method you use to grind your beans.
