At 25 years old, Cameron Wiese is too young, by around three decades, to remember the last World's Fair in New York. But, despite the fact that he missed out on this event (or perhaps because of it), he's dedicating his time and energy to trying to drum up interest in the next World's Fair.
"Why do we not want the world to be better?" he asked Digital Trends. "Why do we not want things to be incredible? Why do we not want everyone to be happy, healthy, prosperous? We want the world to be good. There's no reason that we shouldn't kind of optimize for that. We strive for utopia. That's what the World's Fairs did for people. It gave them the opportunity to see things that they hadn't seen before, to ask questions they hadn't asked before, ultimately to ask 'what if' and to think about how they could get involved in shaping the future."
And it's a goal that — if he can help whip up interest from everyone from politicians to tech giants — would be significant: To create a new world's fair, somewhere in America, in 2024. |

The Signia Active may look like regular true wireless earbuds, but they're actually Bluetooth connected 'buds made to enhance hearing, and designed to encourage people who would normally not want to wear a more traditional hearing aid to improve the quality of their life. The design isn't just for show either, as they really do function like true wireless earbuds too.
Signia describes the hearing aid functionality as, "giving the wearer superior speech understanding in noisy and challenging environments," so the Active earbuds are for use in noisy environments where some kind of hearing enhancement would help, and not really for people with mild to moderate hearing loss. It makes sense, as the wireless earbud design is ideal for putting in when you need them, rather than wearing all of the time. |

Apple has taken the wraps off of the long-rumored iPad Pro, which features an M1 processor that puts its performance on par with the latest MacBook Air and iMac models. The tablet offers other fresh features too, including an all-new "XDR" display on the 12.9-inch model, a USB 4 port, and 5G on cellular models. It was released at Apple's 2021 Spring Loaded event.
I've long been a fan of the iPad Pro, and in fact, replaced my laptop with an iPad Pro and Magic Keyboard last year. Safe to say, I use my iPad Pro a lot. So will I upgrade to the new model? Well, probably not. The upgrades look great and all, but frankly, for the vast majority of people they just won't matter. |

TIPS, TRICKS & TECHNIQUES |
Whether you're looking to protect your kids from sketchy websites or protect yourself from distracting sites while working, sometimes we all need to block a website for our best interests. Balancing privacy, freedom, and controls can be tricky to navigate.
While many laptops come with some parental controls already installed, some are more user-friendly than others. We'll walk you through exactly how to use the settings and how to use host files and routers to do this. |
