We've dreamed of sending humans to another planet for decades, and with the recent surge of interest in the exploration of Mars, it's looking like that could one day be a reality. But there's lots of work to do before we'll be ready for a person to set foot on the red planet.
Of all the resources that visitors to Mars will require, one of the most significant is water – not only for drinking, but also for making rocket propellant and other substances like oxygen. And if we're hoping to set up agriculture there, we'll need a whole lot of water to keep crops growing. But the surface of Mars looks like a dry, inhospitable desert. Today, Mars has no lakes, no rivers, and no rainfall. So where will we get our water from?
We spoke to a bunch of experts from NASA to find out. |

The new OnePlus 9 Pro launched today, and smartphone fans have a lot to be excited about. It's the first OnePlus phone released in partnership with super-expensive camera brand Hasselblad, which has lent its expertise to the OnePlus 9 Pro's camera. Beyond that, the phone is also stuffed with all the requisite high-end specs that we've come to expect from a OnePlus flagship. But how does it stack up against titans like the iPhone 12 Pro and Samsung Galaxy 21 Pro? Here's a quick rundown:
Under the hood
In terms of raw specs, the OnePlus 9 Pro packs a 6.7-inch QHD+ display, a powerful Snapdragon 888 chipset, and a 4,500 mAh battery to power it all. It's also equipped with fast charging and a few other unique features, but by and large, the standout feature is the camera. The main camera uses a 48-megapixel custom Sony IMX789 sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, and optical and electronic image stabilization. It's joined by a 50MP f/2.2 aperture wide-angle camera and an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto camera with a 3.3x optical zoom. There's also a 2MP monochrome camera, which can be used on its own, along with a dual-LED flash and a 16MP selfie camera.
But does it actually take better photos?
Specs alone don't tell the whole tale, so we snapped a bunch of photos and ran through all the different camera modes, and then compared what we shot against other top-tier smartphones we've reviewed in the past. The verdict? It's difficult to spot something that may make the OnePlus 9 Pro's photos special. Its photos are undeniably "natural" looking, usually with a lovely tone and balance, and sometimes a better exposure than other cameras taking the same image. However, this quest for naturalness can make photos look washed-out and lacking in atmosphere. Check out the full review to see what we mean.

Following their huge success with Pokémon Go, Nintendo and Niantic have finally gotten around to collaborating on another augmented-reality (AR) game -- one that will be based on Nintendo's successful Pikmin franchise.
Unfortunately, details on the game are somewhat scant at this point. In an announcement on Monday, March 22, the Japanese entertainment giant only let on that the title is set for launch "later this year" and will include "activities designed to encourage walking and make the activity more enjoyable." Niantic isn't saying much, either, suggesting in a tweet that we "imagine exploring the world through the wonder of AR and alongside all of your pals — including your new Pikmin friends!"
Still, based on these tiny tidbits of info, there's still plenty to be excited about. |

TIPS, TRICKS, & TECHNIQUES |
by Simon Hill and Andre Revilla |
Let's say you're on a work call with someone and you need to record the conversation to preserve all the details. Android devices don't have the native ability to do so, and there are a few apps in the Google Play Store that can do the job, but not all of them create the best results. Here's a quick rundown of the best methods. |
