If you're in the market for a used car, then how about the rocket-powered Bloodhound? Sure, the $11 million price tag may be prohibitive, but just think of how many heads it'll turn on the commute to work!
The ambitious project to build the world's fastest car has hit ta roadblock (again) as the current owner seeks funds to keep alive the prospect of an attempt at the land speed record. Bloodhound's most recent outing took place in southern Africa's Kalahari desert in 2019 in a run that pushed the supersonic vehicle to a breathtaking 628 mph (1,011 kph), thanks to the power of its Rolls-Royce EJ200 jet engine — the type also used by Eurofighter Typhoon combat aircraft.
The test run set the team up nicely for a 2020 effort to smash the current car speed record of 763 mph (1,228 kph), but then the pandemic struck, upending the plan. And now it needs $11 million to keep going.
TCL's 6-Series TVs get a lot of press, but what about the 5-Series? Perhaps the reason it hasn't gotten as much attention is because it has never really been a notable TV. Until now.
Because the 5 Series (S535) 4K HDR TV now comes with many of the features advertised on 2019's 6 Series, TCL has a shot at offering similar performance to its prior 6-Series model at a much lower price. Let's see if that pans out.
Ring has launched its most affordable and smallest doorbell yet.
For just $60, the Ring Video Doorbell Wired is packed with all of the features users have come to expect. This sucker streams live video and records at 1080p with built-in night vision. You can speak to anyone that pays you a visit thanks to two-way audio, and the noise cancellation feature means that road noise or loud birdsong won't affect your ability to hear what is being said.
It even lets you set up customizable motion zones. Passing vehicles or people on the sidewalk will not trigger your doorbell unless you want them to — the zones can be set up so that only someone walking up your steps or onto your porch sets it off.
