Amazon prepared to help with U.S. vaccination efforts: Just hours after Joe Biden took the oath of office, Amazon sent a letter to the president saying it “stands ready to assist you in reaching your goal of vaccinating 100 million Americans in the first 100 days of your administration.” The Seattle tech giant has an agreement with a licensed third-party occupational healthcare provider to administer COVID-19 vaccines at its facilities. Amazon wants to get its employees vaccinated as soon as possible. The company employs more than 800,000 in the U.S., and most can’t work from home.

“Venture capital loves destruction.” Startup veteran and former Twitter executive Mike Davidson offers his take on investment totals continuing to set new records, defying political and economic turmoil, in this bonus episode of the GeekWire Podcast.

Positive pandemic trends: The New York Times has a fun roundup of food, products, and other activities that people have turned to amid the pandemic. Rich Barton, CEO of Seattle real estate giant Zillow Group, was “psyched” to see his company make the list. “No better way to channel your despair at having to stay home than by stalking someone else’s nicer home,” the Times quipped.

Bernie memes: Social media can’t get enough of the senator’s mittens. We liked these Peloton and Microsoft Windows memes, as well as this Pearl Jam nod.
