💡🤔 The Origin Story of Mastering AI Art Generation
Last year I was a spectator watching from the sidelines, admiring some of the amazing creations by people experimenting with AI Art using Diffusion models. A friend of mine, who is a great engineer but with no real artistic skills as per his assessment, showed me some beautiful artwork that was a result of his imagination ('prompts') and an open-source stable diffusion model he had started training.
Then it hit me.
I've always wanted to experiment with new things outside my comfort zone. Shouldn't I treat this like the adventure it is?
So what does an adventure look like? Definitely not me silently admiring the situation and taking no action. So I left the house, went to my favorite coffee shop, sat outside overseeing the beach, made a call to my 'great engineer friend (aka aspiring AI artist)' and made lots of progress co-creating decent artwork and frankly, the quality of output was way beyond my wildest imagination!
And it felt fun; I just loved it! This is where the idea to create Mastering AI Art Generation courses originated.
The fear of getting started is probably the number one reason why most people never start learning something new. The fear of getting started is fuelled by failure, self-doubt, judgment….the list is painfully endless. But, you have to remember that all the successful people - had to decide to start. And they were full of doubts, just like you are today.
Overcoming these fears is one of the first things we all must do. Often, we glorify people who achieved some form of success, and we forget that these were (and still are) human beings just like us.
I'm 100% sure that if you decide to become a lifelong learner and stick to a structured path, you'll change your life forever - no matter what fear is currently holding you back.
David Holz, an acquaintance of mine, is a great example. Yes, he is the same David Holz, founder of the insanely popular Midjourney discord bot that helps you generate stunning artwork. I was apprehensive about its acceptance and commercial viability in the early days. But he had a bone-deep conviction in their team's research to make humans more imaginative instead of building creative machines. In just a few months, we were learning this new subfield of AI and using it extensively in our consulting work. This deep practical experience has enabled us to create a world-class curriculum on Mastering AI Art Generation for artists and engineers.
The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
